У жизни моей и вне сцены давно,
И вновь с неповешенной мне площадною афишей
Знакомую роль перенять суждено?
Ах, робости штили и бури восторга!
Нет, лучше, чем вы, визави не сыскать,
Все выставив к этой премьере билеты без торга,
Чтоб зрителям искренней образ подать!
От скепсиса резво к смятенью кочуя,
Догадки сновали числом в мириад –
Ведь в вас я внезапно увидел, услышал, почуял
Как будто себя лет с десяток назад...
С чего завещал драматург этой пьесы
Актёрам над жанром работу свою,
Интригу укрыв где-то в складках сюжетной завесы,
К дуэли тирад, что решится вничью?
Ведь только лишь мы предались пустословью,
Счёт в ноль я сравнял с ходу нашим годам,
Какой-то сочувственной, дружеско-братской любовью
Вдруг с первого взгляда проникнувшись к вам.
На миг словно молодость духа вернулась,
И бойкость, и пылкость, и взбалмошный нрав!
Случайная встреча удачно вот так подвернулась
Средь тягостных дел и постылых забав...

Неважно, комедией, фарсом иль драмой
Своё оборвём представление мы –
Идите моими следами походкой упрямой
На свет доброты из порочности тьмы.

Are all plots already written from above
In my off-stage life for a long time ago,
And again even with unhung square's affiche
Am I destined to adopt familiar role?
Ah, calms of timidity and storms of delight!
Impossible to find vis-a-vis better than you,
Offering this premiere tickets without bargaining,
Performing sincere character to audience!
Briskly wandering from skepsis to confusion,
All my guesses was numbered in myriads –
Because in you I fortuitously saw, heard and felt
Literally myself almost ten years ago...
Why did dramaturgist of this performance
Bequeath actors do their own work on genre,
Hiding intrigue somewhere in folds of plot veil,
To verbal duel that will be decided in a draw?
Thereafter as soon as we indulged in idle talk,
How did I evened score to both our ages?
Some kind of sympathetic, friendly and brotherly love
Suddenly, at first sight, I kindly felt to you.
For a moment youth of spirit has returned
With glibness, ardor and an eccentric temper!
A chance meeting turned out well like this occasion
Among annoying affairs and boring joys...

No matter if we play comedy, farce or drama
At the tattered end of this spontaneous show –
Just follow my footsteps with decisive-stubborn gait
To benignity light from darkness depravity.
