X The Christmas Tree

Мэтти Дубоис
Once, I was wrapped up in Christmas
was deaf, dumb and blind to the tree.
I spent all my money on presents,
rejoiced in my gay shopping spree!

Seek and the door, He shall open;
ask and the Lord sets you free.
Wisdom in God's Word is spoken
and wise men don't bow to a tree!

Sure they were vain supplicatons,
that God was not hearing my plea,
then came His Word as it’s written
the thirteenth Apostle now flee!

Truth in a word is life changing
and two truths can splinter a knee;
day twenty five of December--
a pagan god’s fair odyssey!

"Don’t learn the ways of the heathen
that go out and cut down a tree
deck it with gold and with silver
contending they do it for Me!"

Thus asks the Lord of the rebel,
"are My truths too painful for thee?"
