Autumn Walk

Rendez-vous d'automne

My dear, slip your hand in mine
While walking down the autumn street.
I know that we don’t have much time,
That’s why these moments are so sweet.

The leaves are falling down... It seems
That I have never seen before
This spectacle in sunset beams:
It’s so fantastic ever more.

Let us slow down our pace
To savour dusk we're walking in.
You asked me if I’ve been in space...
Since I’ve been knowing you, I’ve been.

Your face’s so distinct in the night,
Topped with the crimson red beret,
As if it shone its own light
And I would die for it someday.

Or would I rather put it: “live”?
May be this is more different task:
To be so good enough to give
Whatever you might ask...

But everything comes to an end
With no exception made for dates.
But soon I’ll meet with you again
And see again your lovely traits.
