We are thanking them for being patient,
For taking great care of our kids,
For what they haven’t even mentioned –
Their loneliness, their pain, their needs.
They are getting older and more often get sick,
And it’s not easy for them to get well,
But even when they are tired and weak,
They protect us and keep quite the warning bell.
They are asking do not stay with them all night
By their beds at the hospital rooms,
And we are leaving and trying to hide the wet sight
And the appreciation in our hearts blooms.
