Life and DEath

Êèðà Àíèêèíà
Life and death walk side by side,
Walk hand in hand, I’ll prove you this.
No one can change it, no one can fight,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

One enters this world to find his way,
To let into his heart all what he sees.
Why does he live? No one can say,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

He lives, he laughs, sometimes he cries.
He finds his love, someone to kiss.
He’s sure that nothing can close his eyes,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

He thinks he’ll die only when old,
Only when there’s no sense to be.
And suddenly it comes to take it all.
It’s not you, not God, not even the trees.

Its name is Death, walks by your side.
It’s war or car crash, or disease.
No one can stop it coz it is right,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

And when this one has his turn to die,
Don’t cry and scream, don’t beg it: ‘please’.
Just let it go coz no one can hide,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

Someone will say that death’s unjust.
It’s not as bad as often seems.
He’s not the first, he’s not the last,
He’s not you, not God, not even the trees.

To those who stay it brings some pain.
To those who leave it gives some peace.
It’s nature’s law, there is no one to blame,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

And when an angel sings his song
Inside your head just let it be.
You see, without Death Life can’t go on,
Not you, not God, not even the trees.

Just take its hand, don’t think you’re cursed,
Coz you are blessed, I’ll prove you this.
Death is not the end but it is the source
Of you, of God, and even the trees.
