Tour of Moscow

Èëüÿ Áåñòóæåâ
So many holidays we have – New Year, Easter, Christmas
And – frankly – nothing more to do than wasting our lives.
Let’s take one day and – it must be… Yes, I repeat that it must
Be – call of heart, the song of soul, our banner and device

We cross uncountable miles in noisy crowded metro,
We waste our time in useless talks in numerous caffees.
Why cannot we just take a glimpse (in fading rhymes of retro)
And take a tour of our home instead of killing days?

Let’s look at Kremlin and Red Square, cathedral of St. Bazil,
Let’s cross the river and admire the domes of Salvator,
Let’s pass the side-streets that still are – so ancient and so lazy,
Let’s go up to Lenin Hills – and maybe furthermore.

We’ll loose ourselves in silent parks and – let us God remember
The glory. Future and the past eclipsing in our hearts.
We’ll walk across the shining day up to the sunset’s amber
And finalize this sudden tour with blue and velvet night
