Village

Усоцуке
I'll live in the village
Where woods are green,
Where a cat forever sits on a window sill,
And the church bells ring
For every creature dead.
And children sing songs weird and sad.
All rats will be wise,
All dogs big and grey,
They'll parade in the dusk,
To scare wild things away.
And wolves will howl,
They'll lure the Moon,
So she'll turn human
And visit them soon.
And all will come to see her grace,
Her silver shadow,
Her veiled face,
But she will leave,
When the snaky dawn
Crawls to see if she is horned.
And I'll sit by the fire,
Wait for someone to come,
Creepy beasts of the mire
Won't do him any harm.
And he'll open the door
In the midday heat
When bees are lazy,
But honey's so sweet,
And then we will marry
And peacefully live
In the house by the river
Where woods are green.
