Bella luna sings to knight

Athena
Light bugs a-tower over me
Through a crack the air fills the empty holes:
Space and Soul. It’s whoosh – not a soliloquy,
But a reply to tires’ whirr.

Tall, steel light bugs sneering at the riff-raff flying round,
At the city…which is never still.

Fill, fill,
Me with the power of flight.
Magic rays I seek to rise and soar
Above the shell: routine and rounds,
and send me flying to a distant shore,
Where the stars fall, fading out.
